Ways To Give
CASH AND CREDIT
Donations of cash, checks made payable to University of Houston or charges to Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Cards are accepted. Donations can also be made online at uhcougars.com/donateCP.
Giving on a monthly basis is the easiest way to support Cougar Pride. Donations are automatically charged to your credit card each month. Enrollment begins for as little as $10 per month and your total donation can be spread out over the entire twelve (12) month fiscal year.
TRADE/GIFT-IN-KIND
Cougar Pride accepts trade/gift-in-kind that will help offset budget opportunities and in return provides Cougar Pride credit. Restaurants, promotional products, facility enhancement and office supplies are examples of the many items accepted for Cougar Pride credit.
MATCHING DONATIONS
Cougar Pride meets the criteria for the Matching Donation Program of many companies. Simply enclose your matching donation form from your employer and your personal payment in the same envelope. Verification of your donation is sent directly to your employer’s benefits office. Cougar Pride credit will be awarded when the matching funds are received. For your matching donation to count towards your Cougar Pride giving level and benefits in the current fiscal year, it must be received prior to July 31.
PLANNED GIVING

MARKETABLE SECURITIES
Donations of appreciated shares of marketable securities are a valuable contribution. They may provide significant tax advantages because you can deduct the fair market value of publicly traded securities without paying capital gains tax on the sale of gifted stock.
GIFT PROCESSING
CHECKS
All checks should be made payable to the University of Houston. Once a check is received, the payment should clear your bank in 7-10 business days. Any payments received that are intended for or made out to the University of Houston Foundation may prolong the processing time.
CREDIT CARD
Once the Cougar Pride office receives your credit card information by mail, in person or over the phone, you should see the charge in 1-2 business days.
